Brisket in Singapore: Where to Buy Smoked Beef Short Plate

4 min read

Mandai Smoke Co. smokes brisket (the navel end, sold as Smoked Boneless Beef Short Plate) and delivers it islandwide on weekends. A 500g pack costs S$70, delivered Saturday or Sunday, order by 6.30pm the day before.

What cut is this, and is it really brisket

The Smoked Boneless Beef Short Plate is the navel end of brisket, the fattier cut from the same primal that still takes a long smoke the way full brisket does. We sell it at 500g for S$70, enough for two to three regular eaters at 200-250g per pax. If you want more beef without more fuss, the Smoked Dino Rib (600-800g, S$80) is a single beef rib bone with a thick cap of meat, smoked the same way. Both are pork-free, alongside the Smoked Beef Rillette (150g, S$23), a spreadable, slow-cooked beef that works as a starter rather than a main.

How to order and when it arrives

Order through mandaismokeco.com or WhatsApp 8085 1405, with a S$100 minimum per order. We deliver Saturdays and Sundays only, in 2-hour windows between 10.30am and 8.30pm. Orders for Saturday close Friday at 6.30pm, and orders for Sunday close Saturday at 6.30pm, so same-day requests do not work. Delivery is S$8 under S$150 and free from S$150 upward, though Sentosa and other restricted locations cost more and do not qualify for free delivery. If a delivery fails and needs a second attempt, that is $15.

For a brisket-forward spread for a group, the Hunter’s Platter (4-6 pax, S$128) include a mix of our smoked meats, and the Chieftain’s Platter (6-8 pax, S$185) is the largest option if you are feeding a bigger table. Sides like Rustic Mash (S$9), Golden Rice (S$9), Ember Corn (S$7) and Wicked Slaw (S$6) round things out, with one Large side generally covering two people.

Is it halal, and how do you warm it up

Our meats are not halal-certified. We smoke pork in the same home kitchen as our beef, so if you need a fully pork-free spread for a halal gathering, this is not the right choice even though the beef items themselves contain no pork. The pork-free options are the Smoked Dino Rib, Smoked Boneless Beef Short Plate and Smoked Beef Rillette, but the kitchen handles both.

Our meats are fully cooked, so reheating is about warming, not cooking. The fastest way is the microwave: put the brisket in a microwave-safe dish with a damp paper towel over it, run it on medium power in 1-minute bursts, and rearrange the pieces between bursts until it is warmed through. For a larger portion or when you want more even heat, use an oven at 180C, cover loosely with foil, and give it 8-12 minutes, pulling it out once the centre hits 65C and letting it rest for 2 minutes. Refrigerate within 2 hours of delivery, eat within 2-3 days, or freeze if you need it to last longer.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does Mandai Smoke Co. sell a whole brisket? Yes, you can request, a whole piece is about 3.5kg-4kg.

How much brisket do I need per person? Plan for 200-250g per pax for regular eaters, 250-300g for larger eaters, and about half that for children under 12.

Can I collect my order instead of getting it delivered? No, we deliver only, islandwide, on Saturdays and Sundays, with no self-collection option.

Is the brisket halal? No. Our meats are not halal-certified, and we smoke pork in the same kitchen, so there is cross-contact even though the beef items contain no pork themselves.

What is the best way to reheat it without drying it out? Microwave it in a dish with a damp paper towel over medium power, in 1-minute intervals, rearranging the pieces each time until warmed through.
